Shadow Kissed Publishing evaluates submissions with the following philosophy:

   Every submission is considered for how well it fits our focus on fantasy, romantasy, sci-fi, and romance; mythic storytelling; and atmospheric depth.

2. Character & Emotional Depth
   We prioritise rich character development and emotionally resonant arcs. Submissions should engage readers through compelling, morally complex protagonists.

3. Worldbuilding & Atmosphere
   We look for immersive settings with consistent internal logic, mythic undertones, and a sense of place that feels alive.

4. Narrative Voice
   Distinctive and confident author voices are critical. Style, tone, and pacing must enhance rather than obscure storytelling.

5. Originality & Risk
   We appreciate bold ideas, unexpected twists, and narratives that take calculated risks while remaining true to the genre.

6. Constructive Feedback Approach
   When a submission is shortlisted or rejected, feedback is provided respectfully, aiming to support author growth and future alignment with the imprint.

7. Editorial Collaboration
   Accepted manuscripts undergo collaborative editing with the author to ensure quality, consistency, and the preservation of voice.
